Canada and USA — November 2025 — The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into remote work has reached a historic milestone, according to new research by Get Ninja, a leading virtual assistant company serving North American businesses.
The company’s “AI Tools and the Future of Virtual Assistance — 2025 Industry Data Report” reveals that 82% of Virtual Assistants (VAs) now use at least one AI tool every day — saving an average of 7.5 hours per week on administrative and creative tasks.
The study, which surveyed over 200 Virtual Assistants and clients across the U.S. and Canada, highlights how AI is redefining the efficiency, quality, and scalability of virtual support services.
AI Adoption Becomes the New Standard
Get Ninja’s findings confirm a dramatic shift in how digital professionals approach their daily work. On average, each VA now uses 3.4 different AI tools — most commonly ChatGPT (74%), Grammarly (68%), and Notion (52%) — to streamline operations and improve communication.

“AI has become the new co-worker for the modern virtual assistant,” said Manojh Subenthiram, founder of Get Ninja. “Our data shows that these tools aren’t replacing human talent — they’re empowering it. VAs who use AI can handle more work in less time, deliver higher-quality results, and ultimately help their clients grow faster.”
AI Tools Deliver 31% Boost in Client Efficiency
Clients who work with AI-powered VAs reported a 31% increase in efficiency, compared to those working with traditional assistants.
The biggest time-savers were content writing (64%), data entry (59%), and scheduling (48%), all of which benefit from automation and smart task management.

“Automation is no longer optional — it’s a business advantage,” added Subenthiran. “Entrepreneurs who partner with AI-trained assistants are seeing tangible results: faster task completion, fewer errors, and more bandwidth to focus on growth.”
The Human Side of AI: Empowerment and Anxiety
While the overall sentiment around AI is positive, the report also found that 29% of Virtual Assistants worry that AI could replace parts of their role in the future. However, the majority remain optimistic — 73% said AI tools make them “significantly more productive,” and 88% plan to learn at least one new AI tool by 2026.

“These findings show that the VA industry is evolving, not shrinking,” said Subenthiran. “Professionals who embrace AI will continue to thrive, because clients want tech-savvy, strategic partners — not just task-doers.”
Industries Leading the AI VA Revolution
Among industries, real estate and eCommerce are the fastest to adopt AI-powered assistants. Businesses in these sectors rely heavily on repetitive digital workflows — from lead management to customer communication — making AI integration a natural fit.
As adoption spreads, Get Ninja predicts that AI-assisted VAs will become the norm across other professional fields such as marketing, finance, and customer support by 2026.
Data Privacy and Trust Still Matter
Despite the enthusiasm, challenges remain. 41% of VAs cited data privacy as their top concern when using AI tools, while others mentioned model inaccuracies and ethical use.
Subenthiran emphasizes that technology should be guided by responsibility:
“Our commitment at Get Ninja is to balance innovation with integrity. We ensure every virtual assistant is trained not just in using AI, but in protecting client data and maintaining transparency.”
A Glimpse Into the Future
Get Ninja’s 2025 report concludes that AI is now the cornerstone of modern virtual assistance. With productivity up, efficiency rising, and continuous upskilling among professionals, the boundaries between human and machine collaboration are quickly disappearing.
As AI becomes more embedded in business operations, the role of Virtual Assistants is shifting — from administrative helpers to strategic digital partners capable of scaling entire organizations.
